From Noon until 3pm you are invited to come out to a brunch event that’s being called “Stand With Ukraine/Meet Elvira.” Elvira Horbata is a server/bartender at Nanola that immigrated to the US in 2007 from now Russian-occupied Kherson, Ukraine. Elvira’s hometown of Oleshky has also been invaded by Russian forces and unfortunately the reality of the situation has her family that still lived there displaced with very little resources. Elvira is now a member of the Nanola restaurant family as well and they plan on donating 25% of Sunday’s sales directly to Elvira’s family as well as continued donations throughout the duration of the war.
If you can’t make it out to Nanola this Sunday, donations can be made through GoFundMe by clicking HERE.
518 Donuts and Pristine Vodka have have jumped on board as partners for this event. There will be all types of drink and food (including traditional foods) options as well as live music, a flower crown station and raffles. Nanola states that “the goal of the event is to demonstrate support for Ukraine and its citizens (local and abroad).”
