This is Jesse Sample. Is there ever enough time? Think about it. Maybe you’ve chosen the life of a doctor or an astronaut, but in choosing that you’ve forfeited the life of a pro-athlete or a sculptor. Maybe as a doctor, you enjoy playing basketball three nights a week and going on a weekly date with you wife. What if you got it in your head to join the local volunteer fire department or start up piano lessons? Your schedule starts to fill up fast.
We must make choices about how we spend this resource. The world around us is full of possible lives and paths we can go down. There are things that I want to try and then there are things that I want to build my life around and to do them right, I need time.
And sometimes, the best use of my time is to sit down and take a deep breath. Sometimes the best moments are the ones that I remind myself that I am a human being, and this is my experience, maybe my only one. I am not just a tool to be employed in the service of my own ambition or fear. I like being ”on the go” and the fast paced nature of the life I’ve crafted is exciting, but it’s not who I am.
