This is Jesse Sample. Sometimes getting out of bed is hard. Sometimes when that alarm goes off, your brain responds as though you were just getting comfortable. It’s as though, minutes ago, you were just getting your pillow position right and getting that perfect temperature locked in. You might have found the perfect way to cuddle with your spouse so you can enjoy their presence but also not apply any undue pressure on any of your limbs.
And then all the sudden, “waht waht waht..” This tender time has come to an end. It’s time to go out and be with the rest of the people. And if you’re like me, that’s a great thing. I love people and I enjoy meeting strangers and being out in the mix. But man, that transition can be real hard sometimes.
Or perhaps, you’re totally cool with waking up but you might want to stay in bed and scroll or binge TV series, leaving only to grab freeze pops or maybe warm up a generous piece of lasagna…or two. Most days, we don’t choose this option because we live lives where we need to do things to sustain ourselves. So, we go to work and deal with society at large. And when that sun goes down, we start to reflect on our day and we can pat ourselves on the back.
We did it. We lived our day, and we took no prisoners.
