Progressive Rock Takes Over Glens Falls

By Stephanie J Bartik.

On a busy Saturday night in Glens Falls, New York, finding parking was a competitive sport. With a show at the Wood Theater, hockey at the arena, and a progressive rock concert at the beautiful Park Theater, the city was buzzing from every corner. For fans of adventurous music, however, the destination was clear.

Mono Means One

Bassist and composer John Ferrara (Consider the Source, Soloist) is thrilled to share his newest progressive jazz-rock venture, Mono Means One—a powerful instrumental trio that continues to floor audiences up and down the East Coast.

Mono Means One is:

Mono Means One blends progressive and psychedelic rock with jazz sensibilities, delivering moody textures, poignant melodies, and jaw-dropping musicianship. Their sound lives somewhere between RadioheadThe Mars Volta, and Medeski Martin & Wood, striking a rare balance between composition and improvisation.

Their performances pull listeners to the edge of chaos before gently restoring them to a serene homeostasis—sometimes multiple times in a single set. Audiences often find themselves unsure whether to dance or simply stand in awe, captivated by Ferrara’s seamless integration of Taurus pedals and bass-tapping technique, Madore’s explosive and dynamic drumming, and Young’s mastery of keyboards and sonic manipulation. The result is a richly layered, immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.
