Sunshine Committee, and upcoming release show at Upstairs Arts Collective February 26th, 2026

Albany poet, collage artist, and songwriter, Matthew Klane, announces the release of his second album, Sunshine Committee, due to hit Bandcamp and streaming services on Thursday, March 12th, 2026. The Sunshine Committee release show will be on Sunday, March 15th, 6pm, in the new Antioffice, a co-working space for artists and creatives, at Upstairs Arts Collective (403 Fulton Street in Troy).

Featured on the podcast Art Town, as well as Unsigned518, Klane has published many books of poetry and performed around the country for the last 20 years. During that time, he’s also curated monthly local poetry readings at Albany Center Gallery (for the Yes! Poetry and Performance Series), at Russell Sage (for The REV), and now Salon Salvage (at Upstairs Arts Collective). On Sunshine Committee, his poetic, playful, sardonic lyrics and country-folk foundations are mixed with a little Dixieland, a little kid-pop, and a little rock n’ roll.

Like Too Little Too Late, Klane’s 2025 debut album, Sunshine Committee was produced by Jimi W., mastered by Troy audio engineer Sam Torres of Polymouth Mastering, and features a few appearances by singer Girl Blue. Here, he’s also accompanied by a full band of ultra-talented musicians/collaborators including local mainstays Shawn McCann (The Black Fuel, secretguy), Chris Gockley (Doctor Baker), and Louis Apicello (Sergeant Dunbar and the Hobo Band).
