I first saw Zorbas Trio at Lawnstock 3. They absolutely blew me away. It was one of the few times that night everyone was silent and paying attention. When I had a chance to make their next show, I couldn’t resist.
I have never heard of White Lake Studios. I am really glad I had a chance to check this place out. They had a light reception before the show. It allowed the crowd to mingle and unwind for a bit. It was really enjoyable. Then onto the show!
The Zorbas Trio is made up of siblings Callista, Demetra, and John Zorbas. This young trio really is something special. When I tell people about them, they will ask me what genre they are. Truth be told, I have a hard time limiting them to a specific genre. They are that original, something hard to find in the social media/internet age. They played a wide range of songs from their current album and unreleased songs coming on their next album, along with some covers. A couple of my personal favorites are their Halloween song and their special take on a poem from the 1400s.
White Lake Studios did a great job with the setup. The studio is really top-notch. The amount of equipment is every audio/videophile’s dream. The stage was excellently set and lit. The atmosphere was super intimate without being overcrowded. The place was packed!
The Zorbas Trio really gave an outstanding performance. Callista and Demetra provided the guitars and vocals. They both have such an amazing range of talent. Their voices hit every note from the lowest tenor to the highest alto. They played a few different types of guitars, including a 6-string bass. John provides an equally impressive job on the keyboard. He even got onto a grand piano. When John plays, he does so in such a way that you imagine Mozart would. He is very talented.
