On Saturday, November 2, Legendary Scumdogs of the Universe GWAR led their tour of intergalactic carnage to Albany’s Empire Live. Opening for them was none other than “The ineffable Kings of Black Metal” Dark Funeral.
Dark Funeral have been wreaking havoc for over 30 years, breathing new life into the black metal genre while also influencing other bands. Their performance at Empire Live was everything you would expect and more, giving Upstate New York a diabolic dose of Swedish black metal. Dark Funeral mesmerized the audience with dark, speed metal contributing to satanic-themed lyrics. all while adorning cryptic face paint as if they just step out of the depths of Hell.
Dark Funeral are not only a perfect opening band for shock rock legends GWAR, they are also a pioneering outfit withstanding the test of time.
