Reczy MBBWRLD – Interview – Thanks for Asking – by Liam Sweeny.

RRX: Who are you? I don’t mean philosophically, but for real, who are you? Are you a solo artist? Are you a band? Do you do originals or covers, or both? Tell me one thing few people know about you? (for bands, pick one member, whoever’s got the coolest thing)

REC: People often ask who I am or what I do” I am a manifester, I am a creator, I am a leader, and I am an artist. Musically, I express myself by letting my raw unapologetic emotions out on a wide variety of beats. I am a solo artist who has built a collective known as MBBWRLD which is a collective of artists, content creators, and entrepreneurs looking to build a community network in the entertainment industry. A fact about me many don’t know is I also aspire to be a motivational mentor to the public, a figure that can help shape and craft society for the better, My music is best compared experimental indie mixed with groovy plugs, mixed with energetic hip hop!

RRX: Do you have anything out there for the hordes to consume? What do you have? (most current thing) And do you have any shows or events coming out next month?

REC: My music is on all platforms, I’ve been gaining heavy traffic in Spotify recently due to friends, family, and the WORLD, adding me to playlists, I often receive videos of supporters playing my music doing various actives, it makes it more enjoyable to make art when your support system is strong. My recent release, “Hourglass” is a genre blend between “dancehall” music and a newer “Jersey club” feel, the best was produced by producer MSmash! The song is a cool blend of “being in your bag” while having a sensitive conversation with a lover. At my last show I hosted and organized, I also performed Hourglass for over 200 people at Landing On Mbbwrld SHOWCASE (pt 6) and when people started singing the lyrics back to me while performing, I knew my life as an artist has officially changed

RRX: Different people in the band will like different songs. A drummer’s favorite song on the release will be different than the guitar player’s. What are each of your favorite songs from your most recent album? (If you’re a solo artist, how about giving us your favorite song from a fellow local musician or band, and why)

REC: I have many unreleased songs, I’ve actually only dropped 9 songs officially with a bunch of featured tracks with artists like Freedom Stratton, Knuckles Brimm, T-eia, Bp Spill, Swish Nine, YUNG Tae tha Don, and many more talented artists . I have over 90 unreleased songs and often find myself sitting on music due to me overthinking my artists layout, I take music so serious that I wanna show appreciation and commitment to my craft, I never wanted to be an artist who just “releases” anything, so with my musical drops, I’ve been very precise and cautious. Going into the summer of 2024 I’m changing my approach and deciding I shall release my Vauly!! So expect bi-weekly musical drops and possibly a project in the future‼️

RRX: I know when pitching it helps to tell someone it’s “this meets that.” So let’s try that with you. If you had to give me two bands that meet each other in your sound, what are those bands? More than two bands?

REC: The question is what two artists could be blended to represent my sound, and I love that question. It’s tough cause anyone who knows me knows that with my personality I would need like 20-30 artists to compare because I have so many different sounds I enjoy creating. I don’t like to compare my music to others because I want it to be a unique experience for each listener without expectations. If you enjoy well composed music, with lyrics that’ll have you listening for more, check out Reczy on all musical platforms or head over to my Instagram @mbb.Reczy

RRX: Is there a song you wrote that really died on the vine? Something you all like but somehow just couldn’t make it work. You swear never to play it live, that sort of thing? Or conversely, what has flourished to your surprise?

REC: My best performed song was at Landing On Mbbwrld Pt 5. I performed my heavily anticipated song “Go!” out on all platforms. It was at Putnam Place… 350 people , and I was on FIREEEE …. That night I don’t know man, I just wanted it soooo bad , I was excited to perform. It was the most people I ever had come to MY show, and I was feeling great! When the music cut on, I was in the zone! I dropped off the stage and started a MOSHPIT IN THE CROWD! That’s right I had all ages and genders from all Different backgrounds to come together and MOSHPIT … and it even ended peacefully lol , Often when I perform I black out from the passion and adrenaline , so when watching the videos play back I was in SHOCK ! It was truly a moment that’ll always give me chills.

I appreciate you reaching out and acquiring more information and a deeper dive into my career. The future is bright because we have so many outlets in the 518 and the world for aspiring artists and leaders like myself. I hope to have many more conversations in the future.
