Caffe Lena – Week at a Glance

By on July 28, 2025

Greetings – I’ve been seeing some impressive commitment this week here at Folk HQ. We just wrapped up our summer camp and the 11 – 13 year olds who participated were absolutely locked in on developing their craft, learning the songs, and playing together.  It was impossible to stay at my desk as I heard them slowly building up speed and swing on tunes such as “Shady Grove” and “I’ve Endured.” I tell you, it was a footstomping week! Those old songs have found some true-blue new friends.

And then there was a band that lost a couple key anchor dates on their tour. They could easily have canceled their Caffe Lena show, but their respect for the music, for the people who come to listen, and for the venues that keep it all going outweighed convenience so the band members flew in from Alberta, Detroit, and New Orleans just to play this one show.

And during this Saratoga season where tourists reign, the Caffe is welcoming new friends and keeping the old. We have two shows this week featuring 518 talent, and we continue our Open Mic even when we could be offering big ticket shows.

Please enjoy exploring this week’s schedule. Women’s voices blend in spectacular harmony on Tuesday and Friday. Chris Pierce is a riveting artist with stories you will not forget and songs that are not only good, they’re important.

See you at the show,
Sarah
