Caffe Lena – Week at a Glance
By Staff on September 3, 2025
Greetings – Summer is leaving us with some good memories. This was the first summer programmed entirely by Hannah. If we can go by the attendance numbers and the applause, you loved the new talent she brought in, like Eddie 9V, Jax Hollow, The Henry Girls and Rock Hearts. It was the first summer for our new house managers, Brittany and Artur. They’ve loved getting to know you, hearing your stories, learning your favorite spot to sit. Our School of Music youth bands, The Rolling Pebbles and The Jazz Pebbles, took it to the next level this summer. They headlined their first show at Caffe Lena, and Jazz Pebbles opened for Chuck Lamb and Jorge Gomez at Putnam Place. “How old are they?” we were asked over and over. “10, 12, 13 & 13.” Yes, we were bursting with pride to see them hold their focus and really lean into the tunes as the crowd cheered.
Things feel healthy at the Caffe. The roster of performers is evolving, new members are signing up, kids are getting involved. To paraphrase the indelible words of our founder, Lena Spencer: “Every person who has ever entered my venue is in some way responsible for it still being here.” Thanks for helping us keep musical roots strong and the branches growing.
September is starting out with some really sweet shows. Enjoy exploring!
See you at the show,
Sarah
