The rain was coming down in Lake George on September 4, 2025, but it didn’t matter. By the time the first chords rang out at Duffy’s, the crowd had packed in shoulder to shoulder, buzzing with anticipation. It was a school night for many parents in the area, but permission slips and early mornings could wait — the night belonged to live music.
The show was a celebration of Spoiler’s big win in the NY Rockstar Photographer Spin the Wheel Contest, launched by Stephanie J. Bartik to mark the rapid growth of her new fan page. Once the page hit 1,000 followers in just three and a half days, more than twenty bands from the region entered for a chance to receive a free photo session. To keep it fair, Bartik put the names on a prize wheel and spun it live on camera. The wheel stopped on Spoiler — and the band was more than ready to make the most of it.
A Band That Refuses to Play It Safe
Spoiler isn’t your typical cover band. With a lineup of Chris Seymour (keyboards, vocals), Kevin O’Brien (bass, vocals), Don Lackey (guitar, vocals), and Greg Henzel (drums, percussion, vocals), they deliver a mix of fresh originals and clever throwbacks that leave you both surprised and nostalgic. Their set flips from “Hey, I remember that one!” moments to hard-hitting tracks that demand you stay on the dance floor.
The Night at Duffy’s
From the preshow photo session to the first downbeat, Spoiler radiated chemistry. Seymour’s keys cut through the rain-soaked night, O’Brien’s basslines rumbled with groove, and Lackey’s guitar riffs soared over Henzel’s driving percussion. Vocals were shared across the lineup, creating layers of harmonies that gave their performance both power and texture.
What stood out most wasn’t just the musicianship — it was the connection. Fans sang along, couples danced, and the crowd leaned in closer with each song. The band wasn’t just performing for the room; they were pulling everyone into the experience.
What’s Next
With the Spin the Wheel contest now in the books, Bartik promises this is just the beginning. A bigger and better contest is already in the works, and fans are encouraged to follow @NY Rockstar Photographer – Stephanie J Bartik on Facebook for details. If Spoiler’s win proves anything, it’s that live music, community, and a little bit of luck can create a night to remember.
Spoiler came to play, and Lake George left spoiled — in the very best way.
