Tantric @ Putnam Place, 7/8/2026

Tantric just concluded their 25th anniversary tour for their debut album, with the album in its entirety being performed every night of the tour.

The band’s crowd seemed to know this well, and the level of excitement, anticipation, and a feeling of connectedness between the band and their loyal audience heightened as the relaxed yet charismatic frontman, Hugo Ferreira, announced it was time to begin the journey back to 2001 to revisit the certified gold album and post-grunge classic, “Tantric” (self-titled).

This was, oddly, my first exposure to the band live, and for what I can recall, at all. During the set, the band impressed me with the strength of their vocal harmonies, which I hadn’t expected, as well as the overall sense of the audience’s focus on every note  played, especially once we were on our way into the performance of the self-titled album.

I came to Tantric’s concert to photograph them for the promoter and RadioradioX and the Xperience Monthly, and to have an open mind, and left as a new fan.

If you like alternative rock and the late ’90s to early ’00s era of music, you should find Tantric not only enjoyable but very relatable. I’m happy I was there; now I’ve got another CD to order.
