Gen Xers and Millennials who grew up in the Capital Region all owe a bit of their childhood to the great Gary Locatelli, the local personality known for his legendary work on PYX 106 from 1984-2015 as Uncle Vito, and the goofy, lovable “Ranger Danger”, whose zany bits were beloved by and seen in between children’s programming from 1993-1997 on WXXA-TV.
With a career unlike anybody in the Capital Region, Locatelli has great stories that needed to be told, and he finally penned them in his new memoir, “The Guy Behind the Glasses,” available wherever you buy your books (but remember to buy local!). The book has gotten great reviews from locals and critics, and boasts a 5-star review on Amazon!
After an incredible in-store signing at the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza, where Locatelli SOLD OUT of all of his books, you now have two great opportunities to meet the legend himself again. On November 16, at the Northshire Bookstore at 6 pm, you can enjoy a live interview hosted by Chris Linendoll, as well as the opportunity to ask the man himself questions about his illustrious career. Following that will be a book signing and meet-and-greet!
And on Saturday, November 21, you can meet Locatelli at the Cohoes Public Library from noon to 3 pm, and $5 from every book sold will go to the “Friends of the Cohoes Public Library,” as they seek to raise money for a great new library. So come out, ask your favorite local celebrity some questions, and help make a difference in the community in the process, just like Locatelli has done for countless people in the Capital Region and beyond!
