Caffe Lena – Week at a Glance – 4/20 – by Liam Sweeny.
Greetings – When you get a chance to hear music like this week’s, you want to be in a room where you can hear every word; where you feel the artist on stage being lifted by the energy of the crowd and the history of the room. Each of these artists has an ear for truth, a taste for laughter, and a lot to sing about. It’s going to be special.
Over the past week we had the chance to share the Caffe in new and different ways. First, AIM Services, which provides support for adults with cognitive disabilities, spotlighted one of our slow jam regulars in their annual campaign video. Grant loves to lead the fiddlers, guitarists and banjo pickers on his favorite heavy metal songs. The video is less than a couple minutes and well worth your time. Speaking for myself, I’ve never heard heavy metal sound better.
This past Friday, WAMC Northeast Public Radio aired a one-hour special taped at Caffe Lena a few weeks ago. “Does Music Matter?” explores the way music effects people like nothing else. Play it while you’re driving or getting the chores done!
See you at the show,
Sarah
