We at RadioRadioX.com thought it would be fun to ask all of our 2023 Listen Up Awards nominees a few fun questions. Again we congratulate everyone of you and we look forward to seeing you all back at next year’s award ceremony. -The Listen Up Team
Today we ask Peter Annello 6 Fun Questions!
RRX: What’s more important, looking good or sounding good?
PA: You know, that’s a tough question where in today’s world looking the part and crafting a certain image to market online does WONDERS for people. I think in terms of gaining traction it might as well be more important. In my soul though, I don’t care what someone looks like, and I like what I can feel. Not just see.
RRX: How would you describe your sound, your overall image and what you are representing with your music?
PA: I’d describe my sound as being very connected the same material that makes up life as a human being. I think all types of music give you a different idea in your head of its “aesthetic” and mine has always felt like the places I visit. The places I like to be, and what makes me feel connected to humanity and earth. My overall image should come off as just a guy in this world who wanders, experiences, and writes about it with his guitar. I’m definitely a songwriter who wants to express my honest feelings about life’s challenges, and see who knows what I’m talking about.
RRX: Where was your first show? Tell us a bit about it. Where was your last show and how different is it now from when you started?
PA: My very first show was playing a 30 minute acoustic set at Pauly’s Hotel in Albany, NY. I was opening for someone, and it was the deadest room I’ve played to, but it still felt cool being on a (small) stage. My latest show was at Jo’s Joint in Troy. It’s a small place as well, the difference is now I have people who come out to my shows!
RRX: Which rockstar did you want to be as a kid?
PA: As a kid I thought Rush were the coolest because of how much my parents played them for me, and they were my first concert, experiencing the music I had developed a love for. Then as I started guitar, I really wanted to be like Stevie Ray Vaughan and play with heavy emotions.
RRX: Who has the best wings in the Capital District? For non-meat eaters, who has the best broccoli?
PA: Best wings I’d have to say are still over at the Town Tavern in Averill Park not only because of the way the chicken is, but the buffalo garlic parm sauce is amazing.
RRX: UFOs, real or fake?
PA: UFOs are very real. There’s absolutely zero debate about that in modern times, but are extraterrestrials manning the unidentifiable objects? The public certainly does not know that.
