We at RadioRadioX.com thought it would be fun to ask all of our 2023 Listen Up Awards nominees a few fun questions. Again we congratulate everyone of you and we look forward to seeing you all back at next year’s award ceremony. -The Listen Up Team
RRX: What’s more important, looking good or sounding good?
KP: I feel neither describe it best. I would say its more important to be honest about who you are. Someone else will decide how you look or sound.
RRX: How would you describe your sound, your overall image and what you are representing with your music?
KP: My sound is Eclectic as I play everything from traditional jazz to Funk, R&B plus more experimental music. I really don’t try to put out an image. As for my music its really about the current moment. Sometimes I am feeling more grooving music and sometimes its about pure spontaneous creation.
RRX: Where was your first show? Tell us a bit about it. Where was your last show and how different is it now from when you started?
KP: Saratoga Winners in 1992 with Caged Monkey. I had done other gigs but that was the first real show. There were a ton of people there to hear the band and it was a bast! My last show was at the Avalon Lounge in Catskill. There were not a ton of people there but it was a blast! To me there is no difference playing in front of thousands or a few people, its all about the making and sharing the music.
RRX: Which rockstar did you want to be as a kid?
KP: James Hetfield from Metallica. I loved his rhythm guitar playing.
RRX: Who has the best wings in the Capital District? For non-meat eaters, who has the best broccoli?
KP: I’m not really a wing or broccoli expert.
RRX: UFOs, real or fake?
KP: I did see one in the late 90’s, so real but I don’t know if they are from outer space.
