The new song comes out as Kushner’s hit single “Daylight” reaches one billion total streams across all platforms. It has also achieved RIAA Platinum certification in the US and sat on the Billboard Hot 100 for 22 straight weeks since its release. He recently commemorated the success of the long-teased single with the release of Daylight (Reimagined), which contains five new versions of the song, including a cinematic version and an acoustic version. Listen to it here.
Kushner is currently busy in the heart of his Daylight Tour 2.0, which has seen him build on the success of his first headline tour and give fans in many parts of the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, their first opportunity to see him. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago and currently based in Los Angeles, Kushner first made waves last year with a pair of worldwide hit singles, “Miserable Man” (hailed by Rolling Stone as “an acoustic ballad that’s as sparse as a one-horse town”) and “Mr. Forgettable,” both found on his debut EP, Footprints I Found. His emotionally charged songs touched an immediate chord in listeners around the globe, earning featured placement on the coveted Spotify “Roots Rising” playlist while quickly racking up more than 700M streams in under one year. When the long-teased single “Daylight” finally dropped, Kushner’s career kicked into an even higher gear. The song has been streamed 1 billion times and counting, launching David into a U.S. Daylight Tour and European tour dates with Lewis Capaldi.
