Friday, September 29th
Macy Gray, Troy Music Hall, Troy, 8pm
with Special Guest Buggy Jive!
Forever full of ear-tugging/eye-popping surprises, ever-eclectic singer/songwriter and actress Macy Gray returns in top form with an inspired new 11-song Moonslice Records album – The Reset – and within a fresh new presentation – fronting her own band, The California Jet Club. Produced by Tommy Parker, The Reset reveals 360 degrees of Macy Gray at her lyrically introspective and vocally exuberant best. The songs move from Macy’s signature vulnerable intimacy on the lead single, “Thinking of You,” the epic orchestral ballad “You Got Away” and the festive, sexy circus of “Bottom to the Top” to the resoundingly rebounding singalong uplift of “Every Night” featuring special guest, rapper Maino.
John Primer & The Real Deal Blues Band, The Linda, Albany, 8pm-10pm
As the title of his critically acclaimed Atlantic Record CD suggests, Grammy Award and Handy Award Nominee, John Primer is truly “The Real Deal.” At eight years old, John borrowed his first guitar and started to strum. With the sounds of Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Little Milton, Elmore James, B.B. & Albert King reverberating through his Grandmother Laura Nell’s tube radio, John was instantly hooked. He was fascinated with Blues music and set forth on a life long path of becoming a musical force. Early inspiration came from his family steeped in spiritual, gospel, and church, and went on to play at house parties and fish frys in and around his hometown of Camden, Mississippi.

Chuck “Rochmon” Vosganian spins the records and gets the conversation flowing. Bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee and tea are provided.
The Captain Fun Listening Library occupying the north wall in the Caffè Lena lobby is comprised of 1,516 vinyl albums and several hundred CDs selected from Al “Captain Fun” McKenney’s expertly curated collection. Hand Habits is the songwriting outlet of guitarist Meg Duffy. Hand Habits’ debut album, Wildly Idle (Humble Before The Void), released by Woodsist Records in 2017, was entirely self-produced and recorded in Duffy’s home in Los Angeles during spare moments when they weren’t touring as a member of Kevin Morby’s band. Two years later, Hand Habits returned with their sophomore album, placeholder.
In 2021, they released numerous projects, including dirt – EP (Saddle Creek), motherless – (Sub Pop), their third full length album, Fun House (Saddle Creek), and a collaborative instrumental album, yes/and (Driftless) with Joel Ford.

ONE NIGHT ONLY !!!!!!! THE TOM EVANS BLUES BAND!!
Saturday, September 30th
Ben Folds, Troy Music Hall, Troy, 8pm
with special guest Lindsey Kraft
“More than anything, I wanted to make an album that was generous, that was useful,” says Ben Folds. “I want you to finish this record with something you didn’t have when you started.”
Indeed, Folds’ masterful new collection, What Matters Most, isn’t so much a statement as it is an offering, an open hand reaching out to all those wounded and bewildered by a world that seems to make less and less sense every day. Recorded in East Nashville with co-producer Joe Pisapia, the album marks Folds’ first new studio release in eight years, and it’s a bold, timely, cinematic work, one that examines the tragic and the absurd in equal measure as it reckons with hope and despair, gratitude and loss, identity, and perspective. The songs are bittersweet here, hilarious at times, but often laced with a quiet sense of longing and dread: a text message goes unanswered; an old classmate descends into the dark depths of internet conspiracies; a relationship unravels in the middle of a lake. And yet, taken as a whole, the result is an undeniably joyful record that refuses to succumb to the weight of the world around it, an ecstatic reminder of all the beauty and promise hiding in plain sight for anyone willing (and present enough) to recognize their moments as they arrive.

Cider & Friends, Lark Hall, Albany, 2pm-6pm
Join us on Saturday, September 30th from 2-6pm for Cider & Friends; an afternoon filled with a delicious cider tasting, friends & more.
Cider and Friends was created by two friends, Dariah Duncan (Dee) and Jovan Tucker (Jovie) in April 2023. The idea of this event came about during their journey to become Nine Pin 26ers (click on the link for more information).
Biweekly, Dee and Jovie would travel to Nine Pin Cidery and try new ciders. Not only were they able to try ciders, but it gave them a chance to catch up on each other’s lives and create new memories.
One week, they traveled to Nine Pin to try the 6th cider out of the 26. While tasting it, they decided to rate it from 1 to 5 stars. This would lead to them rating each cider at Nine Pin or any bar they stopped at. The friends would share their reviews on social media and receive great feedback. As the weeks went by, they would constantly be asked “where can I find this cider?”, and “would you recommend this cider?”. The two of them began to brainstorm a way to share this information with people and decided to create an event! This led to the birth of Cider and Friends!
