About The Artist: The second oldest of 8 siblings, Mercedes Perez AKA Lil Body Benz, has always known the meaning of hard work and persistence. Conceived by two cultured parents who loved to share their world through music, Lil Body Benz picked up the big body pen at the tender age of 12. Born in the 90s in New York’s capital of Albany, she developed a love for music & hip-hop culture very early on. Originally a singer, she grew fond of hip-hop music through playful freestyle battles among family & friends. Her influences include Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and other hip-hop greats. While aggressively working at her craft & growing her music catalog, Lil Body Benz was discovered by producer and mentor Dj Wiz Hoffa. Since teaming up, the two have developed a bond & comradery reminiscent of producer/artist duos of the past. In 2022 Lil Body released a barrage of content, songs & videos catching the ear of DJs, producers & peers alike. With Wiz Hoffa playing the A&R role, he became a key contributor to her artistic growth. She crafted an enticing sound combining thoughtful lyricism, witty wordplay, and catchy tunes. Lil Body Benz possesses a natural songwriting ability, infusing her raps with melodic vocals & a dominating presence. In the past year alone, Lil Body Benz graced a multitude of events & media platforms throughout her city, including podcasts, showcase stages & commercial radio. In early 2022 Lil body dove head first into the modeling scene, shooting her first feature in Threads518 magazine. Mentor and photographer Mark Davis took a liking to Lil Body’s talent and encouraged her to take modeling more seriously. This would lead to more opportunities, magazine placements & runway shows. Moving forward Lil Body Benz aims to apply pressure, on or off the stage, working diligently to put her city on the map.
