Sirsy, The Linda, Albany, 8pm-10pm
with special guest Caity Gallagher
Hailing from Upstate NY, SIRSY plays sassy singer-songwriter pop-rock with lots of heart and soul. Sirsy is known for their passionate, honest, heartfelt live performances that have a charming intensity, loads of stories from the road, and even some nerdy jokes. They can somehow make an audience sing along, dance, laugh, and cry – all at the same show. You will be moved.
Playing more than 200 shows per year all over the US, Sirsy is fronted by a charismatic, soulful, powerhouse of a lead vocalist. (Seriously, wait until you hear Mel sing!) Mel is also the band’s drummer (and she’s been featured in Modern Drummer) who simultaneously plays bass on a keyboard with her drumstick. She also plays piano, melodica, and the occasional badass flute solo too. Mel’s bandmate, husband, co-writer, & bestie is Rich Libutti. Rich masterfully plays a well-loved and road worn Rickenbacker through a pedal board full of vintage effects. He sounds like 3 guitarists all on his own at live shows. Rich also plays bass (and at live shows often does it on a pedal board with his feet). These 2 multi-instrumentalists manage to sound like a full band and somehow do it all with big smiles on their faces. Their clever smart songs have more hooks than a tackle box, with lyrics that center around empowerment and resilience. Fans have supported the duo through the pandemic, their 11 records, and Mel’s 2 bouts with cancer. Every show is like a celebration for this couple and their fans. Come celebrate life with them!

Described as Celtic/Americana, Get Up Jack takes the great Irish folk music of yesterday and merges it with the energy of American classic rock music, and features John Haggerty on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Scott Apicelli on drums, Crick Diefendorf on mandolin, banjo, steel drums, and electric guitar, Doug Johnson on harmonica and ukulele, Tucker Callander on fiddle, and Mike McLean on bass.

Circles Around the Sun with special guest Mikaela Davis, Lark Hall, 8pm
Los Angeles-based instrumental supergroup Circles Around the Sun is a contemporary instrumental rock band, initially formed with the purpose of creating music for “Fare Thee Well”, a series of reunion concerts played by the surviving members of the Grateful Dead. Those shows celebrated the band’s 50th anniversary and served as their official send-off, while Circles Around the Sun was designed to reflect the Dead’s overall spacy and groove-laden feel. After the tour, the group released a self-titled album from the Fare Thee Well gigs, supporting the record with their own road trip. The response was so positive that they continued on with a follow-up project, Let It Wander, in 2018. This record was less influenced by the Dead and more free-form, delivering on the roots influence of jazz-funk, soul, and fusion. The band underwent a fundamental transition in 2019. After completing the Meets Joe Russo EP and a third album, their guitarist Neal Casal committed suicide on August 26, 2019. He left his bandmates a note asking for them to continue in his absence– to continue recording, touring, and playing together. The band decided to carry on with a rotating cast of guitarists, landing on John Lee Shannon as the permanent replacement.
One Time Weekend : CATS Afterparty at The Eleven at Lark Hall, Albany, 11pm-11:30pm
“We Groove – You Move” is the mantra of One Time Weekend – the innovative shred-funk Connecticut quartet bringing driving grooves with a melodic and progressive edge to the universe. One Time Weekend is known for their live shows – delivering a high-energy musical experience at every performance as twin lead guitarists, Adam Eytan and Zac Mulcahy shred over bassist and lead vocalist Ian D’Arcangelo’s funky bass lines and dynamic vocals while Ben “Beano” Sullivan mans the pocket holding it all down with his rhythmic energy – all of which keeps OTW Nation grooving and moving.

Rhoseway / The Sugar Hold / Of Atlas / Josh Clevenstine, Hangar on the Hudson, 7:30pm-11:30pm
Rhoseway
“There’s a subtle tension to Rhoseway’s songs that hooks you and pulls you along. Fleming’s voice rises and dips around his understated but lovely guitar playing, and Niedbalski’s drumming propels the songs forward. Sometimes this tension is released in bigger sonic moments, and sometimes it refuses to give you the overt resolution you might be expecting. “Cloak & Dagger,” for instance, has a melody that floats above an insistent drumbeat, and just when things feel like they’re going to explode, Rhoseway reels things back in. In general, Fleming’s songs play with dynamics, melody, and harmonic movement in a way that keeps you engaged throughout.” – Seth Biskind
The Sugar Hold
“THE SUGAR HOLD burst onto the scene like a bat out of a volcano with a mug of beer in one hand and (of course) a cheeseburger in the other! The relatively new local band is known for their hard partying ways, their indie surf rock brand of music, and their funny off the wall songs and lyrics. And although they’ve only been around for a few years, they’ve already made a big name for themselves.”
-Times Boredom

Claybourne Elder’s “I Want To Be Bad”, The Linda, Albany, 7pm-9pm

Broadway’s hunky gay ex-Mormon dad Claybourne Elder (Company, Sunday in the Park with George, Bonnie and Clyde, and HBO’s The Gilded Age) brings his sold-out touring concert to the Capital District for a very special night only show that show that is hilarious, heartfelt and surprisingly filthy.
In a show that’s part cabaret, part stand-up, Clay explores sex, fatherhood, and what exactly happens when you eat the body of Christ. With Clay’s favorite music from Sondheim to the Great American Songbook to Whitney Houston – come see why critics call him “Handsome and intense” (NY Observer), “Tough and tender” (NY Daily News) and “Stupid funny as he is drop-dead buff” (The Wrap).
Samantha Fish Ft. Jesse Dayton – Death Wish Blues, The Egg, Albany, 8pm
The first-ever collaborative album from Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton, Death Wish Blues is a body of work born from a shared passion for pushing the limits of blues music. As one of the most dynamic forces in the blues world today, Fish has made her name as a multi-award-winning festival headliner who captivates crowds with her explosive yet elegant guitar work, delivering an unbridled form of blues-rock that defies all genre boundaries. Dayton, meanwhile, boasts an extraordinary background that includes recording with the likes of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, touring as a guitarist for seminal punk band X, working with Rob Zombie on the soundtracks for his iconic horror films, and releasing a series of acclaimed solo albums. Produced by the legendary Jon Spencer of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Death Wish Blues ultimately melds their eclectic sensibilities into a batch of songs both emotionally potent and wildly combustible.
