Dr. Dog

It’s been six years since Dr. Dog has released an album. That’s soon to change with the announcement of a new album, called “Talk is Cheap. It was birthed in a Pennsylvania cabin, without rehearsal or overdubbing, just a live to tape recording. They didn’t care if it was perfect and they didn’t want to get in their own heads with it. It was pure expression.

The cabin session produced close to two dozen songs before the band came back and added things individually. Then it was polished in a studio. Then it was mixed by Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, et. al.)

A couple of treats on the new album are the single “Still Can’t Believe” and the just-released “Talk is Cheap,” the latter written by bass player Toby Leaman as a tribute to his wife.

Tracklist

  1. Authority
  2. Lost Ones
  3. Fat Dog

Kittie

Tours are in the air, must be something in the water supply. Alt/nu metal band Kittie has released a new song, first in 13 years. The song is “Eyes Wide Open” and it was actually released in February. We might have mentioned it then. But to support this, they are headlining five shows in Toronto, Dallas, NYC, Atlanta, and Chicago, and working out a few festival dates.

About the dates, Kittie said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be headlining a handful of exclusive shows this summer in support of our forthcoming album. Expect a celebration of new and old material alike, spanning our 25 year career thus far. We are looking forward to playing some set list staples and bringing back some songs that we haven’t played live in decades! Although limited, look for more shows to be announced at a later date. We’ve missed you and we can’t wait to see you again!”
