On January 19, 2025, death metal legends Nile and Six Feet Under brought the Revenge Of The Underworld Tour to Empire Live in Albany, NY. This co-headlining tour had support from Psycroptic and Embryonic Autopsy.
Moments before Six Feet Under took the stage, you could hear Chris Barnes warming up his vocal cords and presenting it through the microphone as a warning shot of the warpath that awaits the crowd. Six Feet Under took the stage and immediately started to carve up the audience with no way to stop the beating. Strangling the crowd into submission with old school classics that would please any Six Feet Under fan. Lyrics based on morbid curiosity and gore, Chris Barnes has no filter for his target audience, delivering maximum audible violence until eardrums were hacked to pieces and left clinging for more. Sharing the stage with Chris was Jack Owen, notable for his time in the band Deicide. Jack was also a founding member of the band Cannibal Corpse along with Barnes. To make the night more memorable, Six Feet Under closed their set with the death metal classic, “Hammer Smashed Face,” originally written by Cannibal Corpse during the time Chris Barnes and Jack Owen were active in the band. As a whole, Six Feet Under’s sound was on point and untouchable, proving death metal is alive and well.
Since the formation of the band in 1993, Six Feet Under has been known for grotesque themes, nasty riffs, and baritone monster vocals. Displaying a vulgar display of true carnage upon eager listeners, guiding them into a journey of darkness on one of the greatest death metal tours of the year. Six Feet Under and Nile will be on tour together up to the end of February – a tour you don’t want to sleep on.
