On March 15, 2025, The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, NY, was transformed into a haven for rock fans as In Theory opened for the legendary glam rock band Angel. The event, produced by E 1 Presents under the leadership of John Meyers, delivered a night of electrifying performances, nostalgia, and high-energy rock ‘n’ roll.
In Theory – A Band on the Rise
Kicking off the night was In Theory, a powerhouse of musicians who brought their unique blend of rock and blues to the stage. Featuring the talents of Mike Mostert (guitar), Tony Covino (vocals), Rez Webster (bass), and Billy Steele (drums), the band wasted no time in commanding the audience’s attention. Their performance was dynamic and well-crafted, showcasing the musicianship and stage presence that have been earning them a growing following.
Their setlist was a mix of hard-hitting rock anthems and soulful melodies, demonstrating their ability to balance power and emotion in their music. Covino’s vocals soared through the theatre, while Mostert’s guitar work provided the perfect blend of technical skill and raw energy. Webster and Steele anchored the sound with precision and intensity, proving that In Theory is a band to watch in the modern rock scene.
Angel – 50 Years of Glam Rock Majesty
Following In Theory’s stellar performance, the night belonged to Angel, the iconic glam rock band often compared to KISS in their early years. Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Angel proved that time has only refined their ability to captivate an audience. With a lineup featuring original members Punky Meadows (guitar) and Frank DiMino (vocals), alongside Danny Farrow (guitar), Charlie Calv (keyboards), Billy Orrico (drums), and Tommy Caradonna (bass), the band delivered a set that was both a tribute to their past and a testament to their enduring talent.
Angel’s signature theatrical style was on full display, with soaring vocals, masterful guitar solos, and a tight rhythm section that kept the energy high from start to finish. Fans were treated to a mix of classic hits and newer material, all performed with the same passion that made Angel a staple of the glam rock era. Their chemistry on stage was undeniable, and their ability to engage with the crowd created an electric atmosphere that resonated throughout the Strand.
A Night to Remember
Adding to the evening’s success was the presence of Jonathan Newell, Executive/Artistic Director at The Hudson River Music Hall/Strand Theatre. Lending his expertise to the soundboard, Newell ensured that both bands delivered a top-tier auditory experience, allowing every note and lyric to hit with maximum impact.
The Strand Theatre provided the perfect setting for this unforgettable night of rock music. Fans left the venue buzzing with excitement, having witnessed both the rising power of In Theory and the legendary prowess of Angel. With performances like these, rock music continues to thrive, bringing together generations of fans in a shared love for electrifying live shows.
