Jeff Scott Solo
Rock vocalist Jeff Scott Solo, who sang on Yngwie Malmsteen’s first two albums, had advice for musicians starting out. When asked about lessons learned from his time with Yngwie, Scott noted that rather than learning what to do, he learned what not to do. Seeing the way things had functioned as he was in the studio, and the management aspect of the industry, he was eager to have a different experience.
To musicians starting out, he said this to Blabbermouth; “That’s one [piece of] advice I always give to young musicians when they say, ‘What advice do you have for new musicians?’ I said, besides the fact that you have to stay with it — if you really want it, you have to stay with it because when you get ‘no, no, no, no, no, no,’ one day you’re gonna get one ‘yes,’ and that means you’re meant to be there. That’s my first advice. But the second advice, and it’s the most important advice — learn the business. There’s so many ways you can get screwed. There’s so many ways people can put the hat over your face, and you have no idea. You can sell one million albums and you’re still driving an old beat-up car. So you just wanna learn the business and know what you’re signing. When people are talking about the business — publishing copyright, mechanical royalties; there’s so many different things to learn — and I tell every musician, make sure you know that stuff before you get into this.”
Biohazard
Iconic New York hardcore band Biohazard has released their first new song in over a decade, titled “Forsaken.” Thy also released a live performance clip from their recent European tour. Singer and guitarist Billy Graziadei had this to say about the clip: “We shot this video in Amsterdam, at Melkweg, an iconic venue where Biohazard first made our bones in Europe back in the late ’80s and ’90s,” Graziadei said. “It’s really organic, and a little sample of the energy of our first new album in 15 years, performed in a live setting. Make sure you’re strapped in and prepare for some real mayhem when our new album drops!”
This single is three years on the heels of the group’s decision to reunite to gig again.
