Ronnie Romero Takes the Lead: A
Live Celebration of Original Songs
and Artistic Freedom

Few vocalists can shift as seamlessly between iconic bands and their own solo work as Ronnie
Romero.

Known for fronting legendary acts like Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and the Michael Schenker
Group, Romero has carved out a space entirely his own with various other groups and his solo
material. And if I’m being completely forthcoming, I prefer the latter, especially when he’s in on
the ground floor. That’s probably why I’m partial to his work in The Ferrymen (along with metal
guitar wizard Magnus Karlsson) and his 2023 solo album of original tracks, Too Many Lies, Too
Many Masters. Furthermore, I was stoked for the release of Live At Rock Imperium Festival,
which gives the majority of Too Many Lies the live treatment, as well as two standout Ferrymen
tracks and a cover of Rainbow’s “Rainbow in the Dark.”

His newest live album captures the raw power and emotion of these original songs in a way
studio recordings only hint at. In this exclusive interview, Romero reflects on bringing his own
music to life on stage, connecting with fans on a deeper level, and what this live collection
reveals about him as an artist today. We also talk about his upcoming Convergence European
Tour 2025 with guitar icon Gus G. and play a clip of their killer new track, “My Premonition!”
