Ramones

A standout track on The Ramones’ 1980 album “End of the Century” has inspired Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney to form a Ramones cover band called “The Return of Jackie and Judy” This cover band owes much to comedian John Mulaney, from a gig called out for from the wrap up of the show “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.”

Wilco

Nels Cline, Wilco guitar player, turned seventy, and he will be performing a show in Brooklyn, on February 25^th at Pioneer Works. He’s sharing seventy with rockers Lee Ranaldo and Jimmy Rip.

“Turning 70 years old seems like kind of a big deal, I must admit,” Nels writes. “When I realized that two cherished New York comrades in the guitar world were also turning 70 within weeks of my crossing over that age threshold, it occurred to me that some sort of sonic ritual performance might be in order. Hence ’70 IS THE NEW 70.’

They Might Be Giants

Brooklyn, Chicago and Philly are in for a treat, as they are stops for a new tour by They Might Be Giants. The tour is to mark the release of EP Eyeball. They promise different shows from night to night. The tour begins on April 17^th in Woodstock, and runs through Detroit, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, and Indianapolis.

John Linnel explained the Eyeball is made up session tracks.
