Undefeated – A Day in the Life of a Teen Band – Undefeated in Canada!
Written by Staff on April 9, 2023
Hello from Northern New York!!! We are Undefeated, a sibling rock band. Members include Meredith – main vocals and guitar (also known as the green haired lady who has a very interesting style that children seem to love), Christian – back up vocals (screams) and drummer (a.k.a. the ripped dude), and Lis (pronounced “lease”) who is the bassist (a girl who always wears black and everyone is very surprised that she does wear color on occasion.)
We traveled to Canada for the first time in March. We live an hour and a half from the border but somehow have never made it over. This was our first time in a different country too, and honestly… it looked just like New York. Except for all the CANADA signs on highways, shirts, and water bottles.
First thing we did after we crossed the border – we went to Walmart (which also looked just like NY Walmarts.) We grabbed sandwich supplies (we were all very hungry – we didn’t want to risk bringing anything we didn’t have to over the border the first time) and Lis found bagged milk. Literally milk in bags. It was so cool – that was a bucket list item crossed off!
This particular show was put on by Kids Rock for Kids – an organization based in New York City. They raise money for kids in crisis around the world. We played in Oshawa at the Biltmore Theater along with other teen bands (Life of Exile, Bello, The Only Bay, and Nerima). It was exciting to play and jam out with the crowd, connect with people, and just have fun – and over two thousand dollars was raised!
Before the doors had opened, we grabbed anyone who would join us and line-danced to the Cotton-Eyed Joe. We were laughing so hard – Lis had a stitch in her side! Shoutout to the lame-o’s who didn’t join! (Just kidding, I know Meredith is going to take this out when she edits this, but I still thought it would be fun to leave in anyway)
On the drive home we went to McDonalds and got shamrock shakes and a strawberry milkshake for Meredith to conclude our first time in a different country. That’s a wrap on our Canada trip!
