The Battle of the Dragons
A hardcore band and a rap group will be seeing each other in court. The issue? A dragon. Moreover, a dragon logo that both have been using. Hardcore group Sick of It All is claiming that rap group MOBB DEEP is using a logo nearly identical to the dragon logo that Sick Of It All is known for. This was after more than one cease-and-desist orders have been sent out to MOBB DEEP, with which one had been complied back in 2003. To their defense, rapper Prodigy, now deceased, claimed that he had first seen the dragon logo in a tattoo shop when he was a teenager.
Liam’s Gotta Live
Here’s something to make you feel old (or fetal) – Liam Gallagher of the band Oasis is going on tour for the 30th Anniversary of Oasis’s 1994 debut hit, “Definitely Maybe.” The tour will take place in the UK only, starting in Sheffield and ending in Manchester. Liam’s brother, and fellow Oasean Noel Gallagher was over the moon about his sibling’s decision to crack out the warm memories. “If Liam wants to do the show, great. He’s got to make a living and all of that,” he said when asked about it.
All satire and snark aside, Oasis was a really cool band, and contributed to the instrumental sound of the 90s. Get on a plane maybe, go see him.

Capitol Wreckers
Artist Morrisey’s new album, “Bonfire of the Teenagers” appears to have encountered a setback, and Morrisey is not happy about it. The album had visits from Iggy Pop, Miley Cyrus, Flea and a bunch more. Capitol was going to put it out, but amid allegations of far right behavior on behalf of Morrisey, and that causing Miley Cyrus to pull her vocals off it, Capitol Records suspended its release date.
Morrisey’s response was, well, Morrisey. Posting a picture of Capitol CEO Michelle Jubelirer, he included the statement, “Hi! I run Capitol Records and if I want to wreck Morrissey’s career no one can stop me. Bye, now!”
By the way, he is on his “40 Years of Morrisey” tour. If you umpto.
Here (He) Goes Again…
David Coverdale of Deep Purple and later frontman of Whitesnake, 72 as of this time, has zero plans of retiring, noting that he has projects out for three to five years. “No. I can’t retire from music; it’s oxygen to me.” He told Blabbermouth.net. He’ll be celebrating Deep Purple with a Purple Album: Special Gold Edition, and a farewell DVD and album from the Whitesnake tour in 2022. Coverdale added that Whitesnake would likely be making more music. To that end, the band added bass-player Tanya O’Callaghan.
Last year’s tour was beset by health challenges, with Coverdale leading the pack with a tracheal infection that caused show cancellations. The farewell tour was launched on May 10th, 2022 in Dublin, Ireland’s 3Arena.
