“Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” Steve Martin’s absurdist comedy about a chance encounter at a Parisian bar between painter Pablo Picasso and physicist Albert Einstein before either of them became famous, will continue its limited run engagement this weekend at Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady.

It will also be performed on Saturday evenings, January 20th and January 27th; Sunday afternoons, January 21st and January 28th, and Thursday night, January 25th. The Thursday and Saturday shows start at 7:30 p.m., while the Sunday afternoon matinees begin at 3 p.m.

Led by J. The ensemble cast also includes Doug Gladstone as Gaston; CarolAnne Manzer as Suzanne; John Quinan as Sagot; Dalton Russell as The Visitor, Silvia as Schmendiman and Malachi Burnham as Freddy.

Tickets to “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” are $20 per person if purchased at the door on the day of the performance; there is a nominal service fee that must be paid if tickets are purchased online via EventBrite.com at https://facebook.com/events/s/picasso-at-the-lapin-agile-by-/253448827594067/

“Picasso at the Lapin Agile” opened Off-Broadway at the Promenade Theater in 1995. Martin revised his “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” script in 2017; it is believed that this CTG production is the first time the new version of the play has been performed in the Capitol Region.

Silvia and CTG Board member Ness Stark are producing the show, which is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. CTG Board member Jackie Amilivia rounds out the creative team.
