Dustin Mele Memorial Concert – Saturday, March 25th at 6pm – Brown’s Revolution Hall
Written by Staff on March 16, 2023
Next Saturday marks the 9th Annual Dustin Mele Memorial Concert, a benefit that goes to help the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI), Rennselaer County Mental Health and the Catholic Charities CONSERN-U Program. Local musical performers Emerald City, Soul Sky, Super 400 will be joined by Robert Etoll, who is flying in from Los Angeles, and will appear with the Bob Etoll Band.
Area musician Joe Mele lost his son Dustin to suicide in 2013. With 40 years in the music scene under his belt, Joe was able to pull something beautiful out from his grief, bringing together some of the area’s top musical talent to focus attention on such a critical and devastating issue.
The Dustin Mele Memorial Concert has been a top fundraiser in upstate NY for AFSP’s largest annual event, Walk for R.I.T.A. And in general, in 2022, Dustin Mele Memorial broke the $100,000 mark in fundraising.
This event is sure to draw a great crowd, as always. It is sponsored by Brown’s Brewing, the Catholic Monument Design Center, Fagan Associates, Guth DeConzo Consulting Engineers, PC; Live Sound Inc.; Modern Press; Nippertown; DrywallXchange; RadioRadioX, and Screen Designs Inc.
The three charities being benefited by the organization are also accepting donations individually prior to the event. Simply follow the links to help, making the event a success even if you aren’t able to make it.
