Local punk/skater band, Anacortez opens for Jonny Craig- Empire Underground Albany 7.16.23

Jonny Craig has lived the rockstar life: addicted to drugs and stirred up countless controversies, many which has gotten him kicked out of a plethora of bands. Yet, he’s one of the most recognizable faces and voices in the modern rock and indie scene— “A natural-born talent gone to waste”. Fast forward to today: sober for 2 years, and trying to turn his life around, Jonny is back on the touring scene. Although you heard many in attendance speak of his prior track record, more were happy to see him get his act together. He hit the stage hard belting out his soul.

Anacortez, fronted by Jessie Whitney, tore up the crowd as they opened (Following My Prophecy band)
Jessie Whitney, joined by her husband (guitar) Michael Comtois, and drummer Kevin Couture, brought us back to 2005 with a Warped Tour, Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack vibe mixed with dark and heavy tones.
She got the crowd going with her energy streaming out on stage.
The band is slated for a new album release later this year, so keep an eye out on their socials for updates and an album release party.
