Dynamic Duo
Two bands, Ride, and The Charlatans have connected their power rings, each taking the form of a bad mother and teaming up for the Between Nowhere tour. It’s a little of this (Nowhere, Ride,) and a little bit of that (Between 10th and 11th, The Charlatans.) And this maelstrom of phonic bliss is coming back to America in the dawning of 2024. Here are the cities where the good times will roll: Philly, LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, DC, and NYC.
Starting January 4th, You can let seeing this tour be your first New Year resolution that counts.
Here, Use These
It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for, especially if you’re a Breeder’s fan. The 30th Anniversary edition of Last Splash was released Friday, and it has just dawned on Breeders fans (they probably knew this) that one of their songs has a weird little circumstance about it.
The song “Divine Hammer” in the Anniversary edition has lyrics from J Mascis from the legendary band Dinosaur Jr. He wasn’t exactly asked for his lyrics. In fact, he was sent a demo, and scrapped the lyrics, inserting his own. And he’s J Mascis from Dinosaur freakin Junior, so who was anyone to complain?
This started a pretty collaborative thing between J Mascis and The Breeders. You can watch a video for “Divine Mascis” below.

Hometown Hero
Every once in a while a star is born. And it must go out, lest it burn the earth of whatever small town or city that ignited it.
Such is the case with Niskayuna’s Marc LaBelle. He came from humble, funky roots to sing for the Los Angeles band Dirty Honey.
You may have heard the name Dirty Honey recently. You may have seen them if you went to see Guns ‘N Roses at SPAC on September 14th. They may have been the better band that night, though I’m no judge. But you can see for yourself, as Dirty Honey will be at Frog Alley in Schenectady, on October 5th for the Schenectady Hardware & Electric 100 Year Celebration.
Here’s a little Dirty Honey
It’s All About That Suit
David Byrne of The Talking Heads stole the show during a showing of the iconic 1983 concert film “Stop Making Sense” by appearing in his classic “big suit.”
The film has been re-released and streamed to IMAX theaters across the county, as well as to the Toronto International Film Festival, where Byrne showed off his timeless wardrobe.
Another cool part of the Festival, Talking Heads wise, was that the original four members were in attendance, a feat not since pulled off since 2002. All of the members of the band went on to individual greatness after the band broke up acrimoniously in 1991.
So without further ado, “Stop Making Sense” – Rerelease
