Lark Hall presents Run Rabbit Run; A Tribute to Pink Floyd, Lark Hall, Albany, 8pm
Starts on Saturday, October 7 · 8pm EDT
Run Rabbit Run is a celebration. It’s a tribute to the music of Pink Floyd composed of passionate fans who enjoy the distinct challenge of recreating one of the greatest and most ambitious rock acts in history.
The Albany, NY band came together in 2020 when Carl Blackwood (guitar, vocals) and Cody Bingham (drums) of Bendt connected with Sean Fortune (bass, vocals) of Zan & the Winter Folk. The three musicians are alike in their deep admiration for Pink Floyd, among a vastness of other musical influences, but kept a special place in their hearts for the band. The move from idea to realization was quick and natural. The early jam sessions were clear indications that the music at this point is in their blood.
With practice, and a growing anticipation in the Albany arts community, came ambition. That ambition meant more players and more fans to share the stage. After a large number of auditions and a small number of personnel changes, Run Rabbit Run added their core ensemble: Chris Andreski of Flying Rob and Friends (keyboards and synths), Taunya “Lady T” Hannibal-Williams of Embe Esti (vocals), and Madison Peruzzi of Brother Junction (guitar).
The band’s debut performance was streamed live and concluded with the classic Dark Side of the Moon album in its entirety (concurrent with a lunar eclipse, of course). The video would reach several thousand views in a matter of weeks. Run Rabbit Run has played many shows sold to capacity.
Run Rabbit Run answers the Pink Floyd fans that need to hear deep cuts and live versions of songs as well as the many small details in each tune that one only catches after hours, years or decades of listening. Their following is made of like-minded Pink Floyd fans, and it’s all about the fans. The band has performed entire albums and quarter hour-plus epics like “Echoes” and “Dogs,” and are really just getting started.
The songs are immortal and the name sells itself, but it’s the love of Pink Floyd within and without Run Rabbit Run that makes this work. And the absolutely top-notch performers.
Join the celebration. Join Run Rabbit Run.

Session Americana with Eleanor Buckland: The Rattle & The Clatter, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs, 8pm-10pm
The Session Americana Story: Late one Sunday night in October 2003, Session Americana had its first jam around a table in the back of TOAD in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Looking back, the group has had a natural, almost inevitable evolution from a loose bunch of friends sitting around swapping songs in a bar, to a hot-ticket weekly residency, to a touring collective. Along the way, the band has made nine records (so far), played clubs and festivals across the U.S. and Europe, and developed deep collaborative bonds with a wide community of musicians. Session Americana’s diligent avoidance of music business “shoulds” has led the band down a quirky and joyful path through the music world. The result is evident in the musical prowess the players and singers bring to every show. Swapping instruments, trading off lead vocals and sharing songwriting credits, Session Americana is constantly exploring new collaborations and touring like a band out of time, always searching for a welcoming and homey venue, a long lunch with old friends, and a good glass of wine.

Jake Shimabukuro, Troy Music Hall, Troy, 8pm
Over the past two decades, Jake Shimabukuro has proved that there isn’t a style of music that he can’t play. While versatility for any musician is impressive, what’s remarkable about Shimabukuro’s transcendent skills is how he explores his seemingly limitless vocabulary – whether it’s jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, folk or even classical – on perhaps the unlikeliest of instruments: the ‘ukulele. Responding to the urgent calls of his fervent imagination, the Hawai’i-born virtuoso has taken the ‘ukulele to points previously thought impossible, and in the process he’s reinvented the applications for this tiny, heretofore underappreciated four-string instrument, causing many to call him “the Jimi Hendrix of the ‘ukulele.”

Forming over two decades ago, the funk six-piece The Motet have learned to work as an interlocking unit, with each member bolstering one another towards the best creative output. This symbiosis has led to a unique style and cohesive musical chemistry, as seen in the band’s immaculate live performances and seamless blend of funk, soul, jazz, and rock. With a fervent fanbase in tow, The Motet have sold out shows across the nation, performed six headlining slots at Red Rocks and sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Electric Forest, Bumbershoot, Summer Camp, and High Sierra.
But even after their 20+ years of accolades and recognition, the legendary outfit – composed of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Drew Sayers (keys and saxophone), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), and new singer Sarah Clarke – are still exploring new sonic ideas and finding new ways to showcase each other’s skill sets.
The band released their 10th studio album, All Day, in January 2023 – an eclectic instrumental voyage threaded by the infectious grooves and immaculate, layered arrangements that The Motet have become known for.
Now with vocal powerhouse Sarah Clarke in tow, the band continues their journey with new songs and fresh arrangements of Motet classics.

Folk Heritage Series: Don Armstrong & The Whiskeypalians, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs, 8pm-10pm
Made possible by the Charlie Pickett & Kathleen Rehl Endowment Fund.
Caffè Lena favorite Don Armstrong first attended a show at the legendary venue 60 years ago at age 15. Since then, it’s become a home away from home. Playing guitar & 5-string banjo, Armstrong has been hailed as “a folk treasure” (Daily Times) and “a consummate songwriter” (Arizona Daily Star). His songs have been recorded by artists from coast-to-coast and have been sung around the world. For 42 years he was part of the duo Don & Victoria Armstrong, until Victoria’s passing in 2014. They had 10 records to their credit, all receiving worldwide acclaim.
Now, in his 52nd year of performing at the Caffe, Don returns with his band, The Whiskeypalians, featuring dear friends Liz Cerepanya & Peter Dalton Ronstadt. Don, Liz & Pete are the nucleus of The Whiskeypalians, a larger band that plays around Southern Arizona.
Armstrong joined forces with Dalton Ronstadt in 2019 for Mother Don’t Give Up On Me Now, which Dalton Ronstadt produced as well as contributed vocals, banjo, bass, tuba, drums & percussion. Cerepanya came on board with her extraordinary voice to sing harmonies. Thus began Liz & Pete – a musical voyage of collaboration that Dalton Ronstadt’s famous aunt Linda describes as “lovely fresh harmonies and a secret cache of original songs.”
Made possible by the Charlie Pickett & Kathleen Rehl Endowment Fund.

The Blues Project, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs, 7pm-9pm
The year was 1964. The place: New York City’s Greenwich Village. Danny Kalb, a young acoustic blues guitarist recorded two songs on an Elektra Records compilation album of various artists entitled, The Blues Project. Not long after the album’s release Kalb traded in his acoustic guitar for electric and formed the Danny Kalb Quartet. That lineup included Kalb on lead guitar, Roy Blumenfeld on drums, Artie Traum on rhythm guitar, and Andy Kulberg on bass, with guitarist Steve Katz soon joining the group. When vocalist Tommy Flanders was added, the band was renamed The Blues Project. Session musician Al Kooper was invited to join the following year. Nearly six decades later, Blumenfeld is the bandleader and manager. The Blues Project has released 14 albums to date, with 2023’s Evolution the most recent.
With their soulful blend of blues, folk, R&B, rock, and jazz, they’ve been historically synonymous as one of the most artful practitioners of pop music, leaving an indelible mark on American music. The Blues Project has performed at the Monterey International Pop Festival and The Newport Jazz Festival. The musicians on the 2023 Tour are: Roy Blumenfeld, drums & vocals; Scott Petito, bass, slide guitar, percussions & vocals; Chris Morrison, lead and rhythm guitars & vocals; Ken Clark, keyboards & vocals. At the heart of The Blues Project has always been a group of exceptionally talented musicians who shared a genuine love and understanding of music that resonates deeply with their audience.
