Wally the Alligator – Emotional Support Reptile

Written by on October 6, 2023

Wally the Alligator.

Man, these feel good stories, sometimes the idiot media picks a shitty angle and screws up our joy. But I will not have it. Wally the Emotional Support Alligator was NOT, I repeat, NOT barred from Phillies stadium.

Yes, a man, Joie Henny, has an emotional support alligator named Walley. He’s about 55 pounds, and, unlike most alligators, he doesn’t bite, though he fancies a good hug or a chin rub. He goes out with Henny with a red harness, name emblazoned, and a leash. Henny didn’t get him as a joke on the whole world of emotional support animals. He rescued Wally many years before, and only signed him up as a support animal at the suggestion of others.

So, a guy with an alligator – so what? Well, Wally is famous. You know, social media famous. He’s got 114,000 followers on TikTok and over 27,000 followers on Instagram. So he’s about as famous as an influencer getting their foot in the door. But still he has some credits. He’s huge in York, PA, where he frequently has dinner with the mayor to advance his cause of free-range chickens in all York backyards.

Did I mention Wally was the concept for Alligator Loki on the Disney+ series Loki? Betcha didn’t know that, did you? We’re out here living in the same time as alligator Loki, and he couldn’t get into Phillies stadium.

Yeah, that part. Henny, and Wally, were invited to see the Phillies players. Henny had no intention of going in to see the game. He doesn’t even like baseball. Says he doesn’t go anywhere with Wally without being invited. He knew he couldn’t go in to see the game and he was cool with that. There was no ‘kicking out,’ no ‘banning’.

But if it bleeds, it leads, right?
