Nacho Average Advertiser! Muddaddy Flats SEND OFF – CLOSES SATURDAY 02/10 -By: Art Fredette
Written by Staff on February 9, 2024
Tomorrow is the last day for Muddaddy Flats in Troy and it sucks!
We are an ad- based business, plain and simple, and from the beginning Muddaddy Flats was our
partner. Dan and Melissa were among our first five clients. They got it. But, before I go one about that
let me tell you about my friends the Framents.
Long before Radioradiox and The Xperience were even an idea in my head they were shaking things up
in Troy with their restaurant. From their start on Fulton St. , now the site of Whiskey Pickle, Dan and
Melissa were all in on Troy, the community and their customers. If you needed a gift card for a
benefit…they were in. If you were a neighboring business, they were your cheerleader and your patron.
They actively advocated for TROY! Even serving on various committee for the Troy BID. Dan and
Melissa are the pinnacle of what local small business should be.
As a small business owner it deeply troubles me when other businesses fail. I am acutely aware of the
challenges, trials and struggle ownership entails. You pay yourself last. You worry about the well being
of your people and customers. You look at the books and scratch your head and then ask yourself what
more can I do? There are sleepless nights and days when you are king of the world. It is a rollercoaster
ride for which only the insane would sign up. But it is also a dream, a belief in yourself and your staff
that we can and will accomplish great things. It is a passion and possibly, a curse but it is YOURS! Then
throw in a worldwide pandemic and the effects. Do you get the point?
I personally want to thank Dan, Melissa and the staff at Muddaddy for not only being my clients but for
being my friends, dare I say family. You have supported me, Troy and the greater area community. You
are and always will be the real deal! THANK YOU.
Dear reader, I urge you to take time today (2/9 ) and tomorrow(2/10) and get to Muddaddy Flats. Go
and give Dan, Melissa and the staff the send off they have earned and deserve. Muddaddy Flats was
“not yo average quesadilla” at all. It was and will continue to be for me, what Troy and small business is
all about. I will miss swinging by for coffee, the laughs, the bitch sessions and above all the love. God
bless, my friends there was/is nothing average about you. THANK YOU!
