Keanen Stark Interview – Thanks for Asking  –  by Liam Sweeny.

RRX: Who are you? Not, like, philosophically, but you know, who are the members of the band, who plays what? Describe yourself in one sentence (it can be a long sentence.)

KS:   Hey there, I am in a duo with Orion Kribs, we play Traditional Folk, Bluegrass and some Blues. I play guitar and harmonica, sometimes banjo when we are on our weekly Zoom show. Orion plays the mandolin and guitar when we switch instruments, and we both share vocals.

RRX: Do you have anything out right now that people can enjoy, and if so, what’s the best way for them to get it?

KS: Right now we have a couple “live samplers” (we call them) out, both from the Dorn Space Awards (2019 and 2021) and I have a solo album I recorded in 2018 out for people to check out. You can find them anywhere you stream music! We also give away our 2 live samplers free at our gigs.

RRX: Love is a big part of music. We’re talking first loves here. Lots of cool stories about first loves and the things we do for those loves. Can you (or, in the case of a band, one member) talk about your first love, especially if you did something cool to express that love? (No names needed.)

KS: Not a first love, but Orion and I actually met and started playing together when I was in another duo with an ex-love and have been playing together since, so thats been pretty cool!

RRX: What was the very first reaction to your music, from the first person to ever hear so much as a practice jam or the demo of your first song?

KS: Well with Orion the first time we played together was a gig, he sat in with my previous duo at Little Theater on the Farm, I still have some videos from that! People really seemed to enjoy it, we are still goin’! Haha

RRX: How does practice go? Is the road practice enough, or do you have a practice shack? If so, how does it look? What’s on the walls? What cool sh*t is in there?

KS: Haha oh man I wish we had a shack! We’ve been constantly gigging and that is pretty much it as far as practice.

RRX: In the universe of music, anything can happen. Bizarro doppelgangers can walk down the street in feather boas. Who would be your musical opposite and why? What do you think the “anti-you” band would sound like?

KS:    Hahaha I don’t even know how to answer that. We typically play pretty fast, and acoustic so I guess – slow and electric? Hahaha

RRX: How can people keep up with you? What’s coming up, soon or eventually?

KS:    We post all of our upcoming gigs on songkick and facebook, all of that stuff. We’ve been using linktree to keep everything simple and in one spot ( www.linktr.ee/KeanenandOrion )

As far as things coming up, just more playing and gigs, we hope to record an album soon and put some more stuff out!
