JESSE SAMPLE’S FREAK OF THE WEEK Airs Every Wednesday at 8pm Eastern on RadioRadioX.com

This is Jesse Sample. Have you ever thought about the traffic that goes on right above our heads. Birds of all varieties get from one place to another, whether it be a few hundred feet from their nest, like a robin hunting for worms to feed its young or Canada Geese on long hauls down the coast on seasonal schedules.

As humans, we can get so involved with human affairs like family, careers and finding parking that we might not remember to reflect in awe upon the weird reality that some animals were given wings and can fly. And they’re out there doing their thing,

I was out for a drive with my wife a while ago and we saw a bald eagle flying overhead and as high as it was, I could observe its distinct features. It’s so much bigger than the other birds. It’s power and majesty are so profound. It takes my breath away every time. I don’t often observe them in a flock. They often fly alone.

This week’s poem is an English Sonnet where I reflect on the relationship between power and loneliness. Thanks to all of you listening to RadioRadioX. This is the Freak of the Week “Birds of Prey 2”
