PRISS… Shout It Out Loud!

Melanie Faye is an American R&B musician and social media personality. She became known after a video of her guitar playing on Instagram went viral in the summer of 2017. She has since performed with artists such as Noname and Mac Demarco. She was a featured artist at the NAMM Show.

Faye’s guitar skills came to prominence in the summer of 2017 when SZA retweeted a 2016 video of Faye playing her sky blue Fender Stratocaster. Amassing a large number of followers and receiving critical acclaim, she dropped out of school to pursue music full-time. She cites Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, and Eric Gale as major influences on her playing style, which varies between R&B, neo-soul, and funk. She has performed nationwide with associated soul and R&B acts such as Noname, Bibi McGill, Masego, and Dammo. She was featured on the cover of She Shreds magazine,[9] and was chosen by Fender to demo the Player Series of guitars. Faye sees her guitar playing as a role model for others: “I want more people who don’t necessarily listen to rock to also play guitar.”

David Halprin is a singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist playing mainly Harmonica and Guitar based in upstate New York  (Troy). He grew up in New Jersey and was part of the New York  city music scene in the early nineties with bands like Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne. He then moved to Athens , GA in 1997 and played with several  bands and formed a friendship with Kevin Kinney lead singer songwriter of  Drivin’ N Cryin’ playing shows with him in places like the 40 watt in Athens and Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta. Since moving back to Upstate New York David has played at venues such as  Parting Glass, Putnam Place and Caffe Lena  in Saratoga Springs. He has also played all around the Capital District Pauly’s Hotel,  Rustic Barn, Twisted Fiddler, Nanola, Biergarten, Black Bear Inn and Kings Inn.

If you where to try describe his music you would probably put his music the category of Americana because that would cover pretty much everything he is. Rock n roll, country, blues , and country  rock. His biggest  influences are artists  like Sting and the Police , John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen,  Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan,  Blues Traveler , Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and Prince.

David is currently  recording songs for a single called Running out of Georgia and ep  called Upstate  due out this  Fall 2024.
