PRISS – Interview – Thanks for Asking! – by Liam Sweeny.
RRX: We all get a little support from those around us. And we also can be impressed by our fellow performers. Who do you admire in your community, and why?
PRISS: That would be Jennifer Paro. No question. Our Ace Frehley “Lace Frehley” in the band. Not only is she a musical force, but she’s also the most caring and kindest person on the planet. When she laughs, everything is right with the world. That’s the best way I can put it. plus, she plays the flute.
RRX: Is there a favorite time of year? What time of year does the band have the most shows? Is there a recurring thing in the year that’s particularly memorable?
PRISS: Summertime! That’s when all the great national festivals are happening. Show are more plentiful and Everybody’s ready to party! So many memorable things.
I would say getting hot under the heavy make up. During that time of year seems to be reoccurring.
RRX: How does practice go? Is the road practice enough, or do you have a practice shack? If so, how does it look? What’s on the walls? What cool sh*t is in there?
PRISS: Yes, it’s at the bass players house. We call it the “Bitch Ditch”.
RRX: Sometimes you gotta go on the road. Miles can build up, and it can stretch the comfort level of any travelling act. What do you bring on a road trip, or tour? What will you forget to bring?
PRISS: Electric water kettle. Stop it’s much have. For drip coffee or tea anytime. Our bass player makes a lovely cup.
RRX: In the musical world, there are many supporting players. Recording engineers, sound techs, cover art designers. Who are three people that support the craft that you would like to shine a spotlight on?
PRISS: The Kids! The real guys could be an intimidating to the little ones. We’re a bit softer.
RRX: Our style comes from the extension of our influences. It’s like an evolution. We’re influenced, and it inspires us to influence. What can you say about your influences, and what you feel you’ve done with their influence as a musician or band? Have you extended their work?
PRISS: Obviously, that would be KISS. Because we’re women, disbelief cannot be suspended sonically. So,it gives us the opportunity to stretch out with harmonies.
Extending and experimenting.
