An Interview with Iconic Metal Singer John Bush of Armored Saint

John Bush emerged in the metal scene in Southern California more than 40 years ago with Armored Saint – which he still fronts – and has since become one the most consistent voices in metal. Though he may be most recognizable from his time in the 90s and early 2000s with Anthrax, which includes Sound of White Noise, a Certified Gold Record in the U.S., Armored Saint has always been his home base and continues to draw critical and fan support with each successive album (all of which are on Metal Blade Records). 

In this interview, Bush speaks with RadioRadioX contributor (and huge fan) Justin Smulison about Armored Saint’s developments, the excitement of the current tour with W.A.S.P. in North America that will run through Dec. 14, and what else is on the horizon for one of metal’s most enduring bands. 

They also briefly discuss the arrival of Bush’s additional band, Category 7, which is comprised of metal veterans who are current and former members of Exodus, Overkill, Machine Head and Adrenaline Mob. That explosive band’s self-titled debut was released this year, and the quintet will play their first live shows in 2025 in the U.S. 

It was a privilege for Smulison to speak with hsi favorite metal singer – someone who has been a huge influence for 30 years.  Horns Up!!!!
