An Interview with Hiroe

Post-metal instrumental group Hiroe recently released their sophomore album, Wield
featuring soaring anthems and musical soundscapes that expand upon their debut EP,
Wrought.

Released by Pelagic Records, Wield features a 60% lineup change for the
Pennsylvania-based quintet with bandleader and guitarist Eric Kusanagi and guitarist Jill
Paslier (previously on bass). The band recently wrapped a tour of the Northeast U.S.
and is preparing for the pre-show spot on at the Post. Festival 2025 in Indianapolis on
July 23.

I had the chance to catch up with Kusanagi to discuss how Hiroe creates music that
resonates with audiences (despite the absence of any vocals) and what else is on the
horizon for the band.
