WAMM FEST 2025 LAUNCHES POWERFUL CELEBRATION OF WOMEN IN
MUSIC AT THE HANGAR IN TROY
Festival Co-Produced by Kaos Industries and Peak Music Studios in association with
RadioRadioX and The Xperience
Troy, NY On Sunday, September 14, The Hangar in Troy will
come alive with the sounds of powerful harmonies, blazing guitars, and fearless voices
as WAMM Fest 2025 kicks off its first-ever celebration of women-led music in the
Capital Region.
Born from the grassroots WAMM (Women Are Making Music) movement revived in
2023 by musician and producer Niki Kaos, this inaugural festival is the joyful next
chapter in a story of perseverance, artistry, and sisterhood. Co-produced by Kaos
Industries and Peak Music Studios, the festival brings together an electric lineup of
women-driven acts across genres—from rootsy Americana to riotous punk and sultry
blues.
In addition to the music, the event will feature a vibrant marketplace of women-owned
businesses showcasing art, handmade goods, and creative merchandise. The festival is
family-friendly, welcoming and open to all—a true community celebration where
everyone is invited to support women in the arts.
“WAMM Fest is about amplifying women’s voices, not just on stage, but in our
community,” said Niki Kaos, founder of WAMM. “We’re here to celebrate the incredible
talent of women who often go unheard—and to build something that welcomes
everyone.”
Crystal Moore, co-owner of Peak Music Studios, added: “This festival isn’t just about
music—it’s about mentorship, visibility, and showing young artists that they belong in
every corner of the industry. It’s time.”
Artists Speak Out: Why WAMM Fest Matters
“Playing at WAMM is a celebration of creativity, solidarity, and unapologetic expression.
On that stage, we’re not just making music—we’re shaping the future.”
— Shannon Tehya & The Troupe
“WAMM Fest is a day of sharing music by women. That’s not just a great opportunity—
it’s necessary. I hope families bring their daughters, because they need to see that you
don’t have to look or sound a certain way to matter in music.”
— Amy-Lin Slezak, singer-songwriter
“The women involved in this festival are strong and off-the-charts talented. We’re
encouraging each other to stretch and grow—and celebrating our art and power
together.”
— Joanne DelCarpine, Joanne’s Driving the Bus
”Audiences often expect to find female musicians sidelined or flanked by male
musicians, perhaps to legitimize women inhabiting public musical space. WAMM
shatters this expectation and shows another way to be.” — Maria Palmara, GLORIA
DUO
“Women are so often dismissed without audition due to unconscious prejudice. This
event makes us visible. It’s empowering, uplifting—and it feels so good to be part of
something this honest and inspiring.”
— Brenda Fisher, Kitty Rodeo
“I’m honored to play alongside such a great group of women as I begin this new
adventure in my musical journey. May WAMM Fest last long into the future!”
— JoVoodoo, The Va Va Voodoos
