Blondie

Blondie’s upcoming album has been delayed due to the passing of drummer Clem Burke, but a deluxe reissue of the 1999 album “No Exit” is dropping today. Chris Stein said that the album was scheduled to release at the end of this year, but is being held off until the first or second quarter of next year.About the upcoming album, Blondie had this to say in an interview with NME: ““I think that it’s a traditional Blondie composite of sounds and styles of music. That’s a format we’ve stuck with from the get-go. Over the years we’ve gotten better and better at it, and we’ve also taken a few outside tracks from outside artists. We have a track from Johnny Marr, and we have one from Glen [Matlock] too.  Chris did a lot of writing for this one, and I did a lot of lyrics.”

John Carpenter

Director and composer John Carpenter is having a one-night-only event at the Belascio theater in L.A. with an accompanying livestream. The event is called JOHN CARPENTER LIVE: HALLOWEEN FROM LOS ANGELES. “I’ve been setting my nightmares, dreams, and visions to music for a very long time,” said Carpenter in a press statement. “Partnering with Bloody Disgusting and Veeps lets us share that experience beyond Los Angeles and New York, so music and horror fans everywhere can feel it live, loud, and in real time this Halloween.”

Megadeth

Megadeth’s self-titled, and final album is being released in January, and one of the songs is a cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning. Surprisingly, it’s a song that Dave Mustaine co-wrote with Metallica. “We have 13 new songs for the new album…” Mustaine said. “One of the songs is a cover song but I actually wrote it, so it’s kind of like a cover, kind of like my song.”

Song titles are “Tipping Point,” “I Don’t Care,” “Hey God?!,” “Let There Be Shred,” “Puppet Parade,” “Another Bad Day,” “Made to Kill,” and “Obey the Call.”

Megadeth will be supporting Iron Maiden on a 2026 tour.
