I have the pleasure of interviewing David Reece and Andy Susemihl every year as they
individually always have something happening – whether it’s a new album, project, or
tour. But 2025 was a special one as they reunited as the creative driving force of the
melodic rock group Bangalore Choir and released Rapid Fire Succession: On Target
Part II. Though the album is fifth full-length studio LP from the group (which was
reactivated in 2023), it marks Susemihl’s return to the fold.
Released in Fall 2025, Rapid Fire Succession: On Target Part II is available worldwide
from the newly launched BraveWords Records. Featuring 16 original tracks, broken into
two “acts” for you vinyl fans, Reece’s unmistakable voice has always carried equal parts
grit and grace, and hearing him discuss the new record’s creation was inspiring. He
described Part II as “a reconnection with purpose”, and that sense of renewed fire
radiates from every track. More than 30 years after the release of On Target, the band’s
signature mix of melody and muscle sounds as vital as ever — a testament to Reece
and Susemihl’s commitment to craft and authenticity.
Reece also known for being the one-time frontman for Accept (singing on 1989’s Eat
The Heat) and in late 2025 wrapped a tour in support of Alcatrazz and Girlschool. Just a
couple of days prior to this interview, the duo performed an intimate acoustic set in
Germany. We reflect on all those shows, and what the future holds for this unstoppable
collaborative force.
