CPS (Self Titled) – An Xperience Review – by Liam Sweeny.

CPS has released their self-titled album this year. It is a departure without a return ticket, and if you’re one with the madness, book now.

Singer and bassist Anthony S Campbell, guitarist Aiden Velazquez and drummer Declan J Fields have put together a really noteworthy album in their self-titled offering. Rock-solid artistry, they don’t color between the lines, and they’re not afraid to put something new on your plate.

There’s a quality to the whole album. It seems to have a chaotic energy, but it’s really just that the rhythm and melody take you in strange directions, which stops feeling like chaos the moment you realize what it is. Then it’s basically exploration. You would probably take this on the rocket ship with you.

Velazquez has this absolutely unique sound, like arpeggios and scales that come from Narnia. They’re novel and hypnotic. Not to mention Anthony S Campbell’s vocals bringing the sound of traditional hardcore and punk into a place you woudn’t expect it.

There’s a ton of range in this album. They’re all completely different songs, yet with the thread of their sound running through. They just have a quality and a character that carries no matter what kind of song it is.
