Eid al Adha marks the end of Ramadan. What better way to come together to celebrate than a bazaar! The Eid Bazaar brought together some of the finest art, food, and fashion from Desi culture right to our doorstep in the Capital District. The bazaar was held on May 26th on Central Ave, between Quail and Lake. We caught up with one of the fashion vendors Diana Paul to learn a little more about this special event.

RRX: Can you tell us about the event?
DP: The event I participated in, called Eid Bazaars, was a vibrant and joyful community gathering that beautifully celebrated culture, fashion, and traditional ethnic cuisine. The event brought together families, small businesses, and local vendors in a warm and festive atmosphere to celebrate the spirit of Eid.
The bazaar featured a wide variety of stalls showcasing traditional clothing, jewelry, sarees, and accessories, along with a selection of delicious ethnic foods that were enjoyed by attendees of all ages. It was a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to connect with the community, promote their products, and celebrate cultural traditions together.
RRX: What other types of events do you participate in?
DP: In addition to Eid Bazaars, I also participate in a variety of cultural events, concerts, and temple gatherings. As I am still growing my business, I value every opportunity to connect with different communities and showcase my products. I am open to participating in any event where I am invited, as each experience helps me expand my network, build relationships, and grow my business presence.
RRX: How did you get started designing clothes?
DP: Although I left my home country over a decade ago, the culture, colors, and traditions have always stayed close to me. Fashion has always been a passion of mine, especially traditional Indian clothing. With some extra time and space in my basement, I decided to turn that passion into a small business. My goal was to make beautiful Indian outfits more accessible and affordable for people in the Capital Region while also staying connected to my roots and sharing my culture with the community.
RRX: What are your favorite types of clients to work with?
DP: My favorite type of clients are those who know what they want and are not afraid to embrace bold colors and unique styles that help them stand out. I love working with people who see fashion as a way to express their personality and culture with confidence.
RRX: Where can people keep track of your work?
DP: You can keep up with my work through my social media pages, @shuisutarkotha on Facebook and Instagram. I regularly share content featuring clothing collections, jewelry styling ideas, fashion inspiration, and updates on upcoming events. I also enjoy helping customers find specific styles or outfits they may be looking for. Anyone interested can message me directly through my social media pages, and I do my best to assist them with their fashion needs and styling preferences.
