Have you ever tried to find out what kind of potato you are? Like, did you really want to know, and happened upon the six questions you need to answer to find out? Was one of the questions about a childhood pet? Careful there, but if you’ve ever been on the internet, even if this is your first day (and thank you for coming here first if it is!) you’ve seen a dumb quiz. You can learn anything and everything about yourself, truth or relevancy be damned. What’s your favorite sports car? Just give them the street you grew up on. What kind of wizard? You need your family line, so give us at least your mother’s maiden name.

Fun and cyberhacky as they are, these fun quizzes can also be a bad time. Take the case of a woman in the UK, nameless, who is now $39,000 richer for having her peace shattered by an online quiz. The quiz? What Star Wars character are you? Her answer? Darth Vader.

Okay, so there must clearly have been other stuff going on, but apparently, a group of co-workers were screwing around with said game on Facebook maybe, or X, it is unclear, and the plaintiff, also a worker, left for a moment, returning to find that the rest had filled out the quiz on her behalf, and she got Darth Vader. And that created the UK’s version of a “hostile work environment.” So she ended up quitting, ended up suing, and ended up forty k richer.

I can’t even remember how much people screwed with me when I was growing up. If that gets you forty thousand, I should be set for life. So yeah, I think this is a little bit overblown unless there’s a backstory. Like Carrie wasn’t just about a pig blood malfunction.
