Canadian electronic indigenous musical group The Halluci Nation brought their signature sound to Troy, New York on Thursday November 2nd. The Sanctuary for Independent Media hosted this amazing event at their historic (former church) location at 3361 6th Ave. I (Rob Smittix) have driven and walked past this building many times and I always thought it was a cool site to see from the outside. Now, I’ve finally had the inside experience and best of all with one of my favorite performing acts The Halluci Nation.
I have been a fan of The Halluci Nation (formerly: A Tribe Called Red) for many years but I’ve never had the chance to see their live performance until now. I guess that’s two firsts for me. The venue is family friendly: serving tea, coffee, seltzer, water and snacks. I loaded up on Earl Grey. Because all ages were welcome, parents and children alike joined the dance floor. There was a lot of dancing, I couldn’t contain myself, the music took over.
As seen in the one picture below I had the pleasure of meeting the group after the show and I didn’t realize just how puny I looked compared to these men until I saw the photo for myself. It was a great night of music, fun, tea and good vibes and messages. At the show we got to hear music that was going to be released the next day and I even asked the group if I could give the new EP a spin on the release date, they agreed!
Check out the NEW RELEASE “Path of The Heel” EP featuring Damian Abraham and Northern Cree on all platforms!
