KISS

Legendary band KISS, perhaps in a move to simultaneously cash in and achieve band immortality, is sold not only its music catalog, but also its name and likeness to Pophouse Entertainment out of Sweden. Pophouse is behing ABBA’s Voyage Tour and Kiss’s upcoming Avatar shows. The deal cost Pophouse $300 million dollars. This move would enable Pophouse to continue putting on KISS shows in holographic form using their original music, or creating new music in their style. It also includes their makeup styes.

The Head of Investment for Pophouse, Johan Lagerlöf, told Music Business Worldwide, “The band has consistently been able to appeal to new generations of fans and our mission is to fulfill the band’s vision to become immortal, and to let new generations discover and be part of the KISS journey and carry it forward. With the help of the fans’ energy, the band, our expertise, and creativity — we will make that vision happen.”
