This is Jesse Sample. Have you ever pulled a muscle or pinched a tendon? For a minute, you are surprised that this can even happen. Motions that you have taken for granted for your whole life are now impossible. But yesterday, you were worried about something someone said. When this happens, its opportunity for us to appreciate what we have.

Sometimes, I get frustrated on my path and I complain, not to anyone else most of the time, but to myself. The inner conversation gets so petty and useless. I have lungs that process oxygen and I have a heart that reliably pumps blood, without fail.

Maybe wealth is a matter of focus. When I feel sorry for myself, I choose to starve in a world full of Hannaford’s. It’s silly and an awful waste.
